Vivi's Art Box
By Virginie Vandeputte
From a very early age, Virginie Vandeputte (Leuven, 14/01/1997) has demonstrated her passion for drawing and painting.
She completed her lower and middle levels in the Visual Arts from the Deeltijds Kunstonderwijs (DKO part-time art education) at the Academie voor Schone Kunsten (Academy of Fine Art) in Bruges (2004-2015), where she was awarded the laureate for the lower level in 2009. In 2015, via self-study, she obtained her degree in secondary-level art education (Kunstsecundair Onderwijs (KSO)) from the Central Examination Board in Brussels (Sep 2012 – Jan 2015). She was trained by the painters Jef Bertels (2013, Art Circle Art-X Tienen, BE), Jan Bustin (2016, Silver Pen in Gent, BE) René Klarenbeek in the Rembrandt studio, and at the Maurits house, The Hague, NL (2015-2016).
In June 2016 she completed her first year in Classic Painting Techniques as taught by the master Lukas Stofferis, at the Academie voor Kunst en Ambacht (AKA) [Academy of Art and Craft] in Nijmegen, NL. At the age of 19 she was accepted at The Florence Academy of Art (FAA) – an American institute based in Florence, Italy – to further explore the drawing and painting techniques of the 19th century Realism movement. She graduated in June 2019, after 3 years of academic training.
For one civil year (January 2020 to december 2020), she will study stained glass painting, and other classical glass techniques at Centre International du Vitrail, Chartres, France.
